Hel me. I had my PCI Max for about a month now, and it worked great. Never any problems with install or anything. I just switched to Windows XP Professional. I got the PC up and running, and then addd my PCI Max card per the instructions (install software, power down, install card, power up, install driver). It all went smooth, and the PCI Max shows up under "devices", and is "working properly" according to Windows.
However, when I try to launch the software (to set my transmission frequency), I get this error:
---------------------------
PC MAX
---------------------------
System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770). The specified module could not be found.
---------------------------
Any ideas?? Any work-arounds?? I tried to download the "setup.exe" from the Downloads section of the website (it says it is compatable with XP), but I get the same error.
Help!!! Im frustrated,

Hi.
I had the same problem too. Go to your "C:Program FilesPcimaxplus" and double click on "Fm2paste.exe". Install this and it will work.
Marko: Is this in the manual?

Hey,
nice touch! I'll add this to the
support section. In the mean time,
check the new driver! Its in the
support section. The error message
that sometimes appeared when you
clicked the buttons fast should now
be gone.

Hey Marko,
I am at work, so I cannot try to run that "fm2paste.exe" yet, but I will try when I get home. A couple of questions:
1) Running that "fm2paste.exe" Is that something I need to run once, or every time I want to use my PCI-Max??
2) You say to check the new driver, which is in teh support section. Are you referring to the "windrvr.sys" file?? If so, the link on the Support page does not work!! Where can I get this file?? It is not on the "Software Download Page" either.
SO....what is the best and most complete fix?? Running the "fm2paste.exe" or copying the "windrvr.sys" into my windowssystem32drivers directory??
Thanks for the help. i really hope to have this thing running for this weekend!!

1) You only need to run "fm2paste.exe" once. (Install it.)
2) Now it is on the "Software Download Page". I beleve it have been there for a couple of days, but the date indicated in the text was wrong. Download and run "Setup.exe". That's all.

I would like to thank you both for your help. I got home yesterday and downloaded the newest driver/program (setup.exe) from the downloads page. Installed this, rebooted, and still the same message.
I then went to C:program_filesPCI_MAX and i ran the program "fm2paste.exe". This installed Microsoft Forms?? After that, the PCI-Max software did indeed work, and has continued to work fine all evening.
My question now is, what the devil did Microsoft Forms havet to do with anything?!? It fixed my problem, but I am the type that needs to know WHY?
Thanks again,
John Salley

I am looking into this,
it happens on some computers only.
Obviously one file from this package
(fm2paste) doesn't get installed properly.
A solution!

What you likely have to do is move the card to another slot.
I know it sounds strange, but I've had such problems with
network cards, sound cards etc.
Sometimes they work in Win98 in one slot, but other op. system
won't find them. Give it a try.
To be sure, uninstall the old driver completely and reinstall latest
version from the website.
By the way, a new version of driver is coming this month.
One more hint, go over to:
C:\Program Files\Pcimaxultra\pcimax_cmd.exe
This is a command line version of the driver. It will tell you,
if the card can't be detected. The program closes immediately,
if it can't detect the card. If it can, it gives you an option to change
frequency, switch from mono to stereo ...
It also enables you to set freq to 87.5MHz....

Moreover, a new driver was released recently, you may
want to check it out.
Its not based on Visual Basic anymore.
PCI MUltra MAX on XP Pro

I bought a PCI Uktra Max off of eBay and I don't think the seller sent me all the files I need to install it on In XP Pro. I constantly get a "New Hardware Detected: message on power up and the device doesn't seem to be working correctly. I checked the Hardware Manager and have a "?" under drivers for this type product.
If there somewhere I can download the latest software / drivers for the PCI radio for Win XP Pro. I see someone suggested loading a new file that I don't have on my system. The latest self archived file I have is "SetupNew.exe" which appears to be rev 0.0.0.
Thanks for any help you folks can provide.

Check the updated drivers in the support section of the website, it should
fix all the problems.
