I am plannning on purchasing the pci max fm transmitter and I have a couple of questions. Is it possible to change the frequency range outside of the preset, and if so is is changed by software or hardware. I saw in another post that the FCC generally turns a blind eye to transmitters under 5 watts that don't interfere with other stations, I live in a very rural, pretty wooded area of the U.S. and don't plan on broadcasting a whole lot. There are no more than 8-10 stations that come in on the FM band here either. If I use the 5 watt transmitter, keep a faily low profile, and not interfere with other stations can I get away with it? 8)

Thanks,
Kyle

The PCI Max software controls both the on/off of the PCI Max card and what frequency you transmit on.

i'm still here

Just letting you all know, if anyone can answer my question, i havn't disapeared. In response to the above post, I mean can there be a frequency selected outside of the ~87-108 range.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It could be, if you changed the program. But you could get in
trouble by disturbing other services. It is a serious matter.

thanks

One more question, if I were to use a frequency that I could verify it didn't interfere with others would it be ok or is it just a bad idea to broadcast outside of the preset range.

Thanks,
Kyle

I really can't recommend it.
