cavity filter?

lets talk a bit about this cavity filter
how does it work ?
what does it do?
how do you select one for your frequency?

Technical specifications for PCS/1001, double cavity:
- Form factor: Assembly, see photo

- B.W. (-3db): 800 khz - 1.5 Mhz
- Insertion Loss: <0,4 dB
- Power handling: 800W

Its a very sharp pass-band filter, you have to specify frequency at the time of ordering.

It attenuates a signal a few MHz above your carrier and a few MHz below. This "a few MHz" can also be less than 1MHz so very sharp indeed.

These things can be for example used in receivers to block a very sharp local station. Or for combining multiple transmitters for one single antenna system.

Big, heavy and not cheap.
