Hi,

I have a MAX Pro 2000+ 15w FM transmitter, and I need to hook it up directly to a car radio for experimentation, as I don have the required licences to make it legal for me to transmit at this power in the UK.

Intuition tells me that I should be able to hook my FM exciter up to a resistive dump load (50R rated at 15w, preferably more) to attenuate the signal, and then be able to also hook un a car radios antenna input some how.

I dont have the right know how though. My guess would be that the input impedance of the radio is high, and it expects to see very low level signals, so putting it in parallel with the dump load should work.... However, I dont want to blow up my radio or my Max Pro 2000+

Any pointers?

1. Reduce power of MAX PRO 2000+ to minimum, maybe 1W. Look at the manual on pointers how to do that.

2. Connect dummy load to antenna terminal of transmitter.

3. Since some signal will get through you will probably still receive transmitter up to 1-10m away.

Do you need your system to be completely shielded?
