Careful your SWR meter @ max power might be rated for intermittent operaration.

Case in point, I have the highly touted Diamond SX-600 SWR meter. It's intermittent power is rated at 200W. Yet from 100-160 MHz it's only rated for 70 Watts continuous power.

Visit your neighborhood Radio Shack and buy a package of some 3/4" double sided foam tape p/n #64-2343. Apply about 2" length and center tape along the front top and bottom edges of the clamshell case.

1. Provide a single assembly sheet showing an exploded view of the assembly.

2. Using only one screw to attached to the voltage regulator and secure the LCD is a Mickey Mouse way of doing things. The LCD could easily push back and bend the ...

1. No means of securing the small LCD to the front panel provided. No adhesive, foam or any brackets provided.

* That why is there a hole in the midlle of the cover.

2. No means of providing heat transfer from power transistor on LCD to case. Tab on transistor doesn't reach ...

My PCI Max 2006 runs great but I had issues with the 2004, 2005 and 2006 software for several months. My computer just didn't like the software.

So I decided to bite the bullet and buy the mini enclosure, mini LCD and associated power supply.

Observed pluses...

This wdreg program is obviously some utility for the PCI Max.

When I downloaded the 2006 driver the software self installed and configured, or so I thought.

I found the wdreg program in the Pci Max 2006+ directory.

Could you fully explain how to use this program and it's various switches?

Is there a way to manually set the IRQ?

Windows plug and play can be a real pain.

I think if we could manually look for an open IRQ, we could eliminate a lot of installation problems.

It's about time, so far the 2006 driver seems to to be working well.

I noticed that the software comes in two flavors, Windows XP and earlier Windows 98/ME version.

I also noticed that my Window XP now reports PCI MAX 2006+.

On boot up though I get a bios message that alerts me to bios error that ...

That's what I was thinking. It's small, low clearance and very portable.

For FM, 15" square by about 3-4" high can be set-up very quickly with a magnetic base.

BTW...Didn't you said there are some new antennas coming?

The DDRR antenna is used by hams from 160 to 2 meters.

It's a vertically polarized low profile antenna can be made on 15" square ground plane and only 3-4" high when adapted for FM band use.

I did take a look inside the 15 watt amp, and I couldn't even see a J4.

Was the amp radically redesigned in 2006, it looks different from the pictures?

On the 15 watt amp, since it's already set up in a box, how is J4 initially set up from the factory?

For high 250 mw or low 25 mw input?

The SWR that one needs to worry about is between the amplifier and the antenna.

I'll probably order one of those 15W amps real soon.

PCI Max has an F connector output. The 15 watt amplifier has an F connector input. Normally F connectors are use with 75 ohm cable assemblies.

Question...Can a short run 75 ohm cable assembly be used between the PCI Max and the 15 watt amplifier?
