No - thats when you get the problem. If you set the software to run when you boot it prevents the problem, but causes a new one - the fact that you are broadcasting every time you turn the computer and play FIFA 2000 or whatever!

Interference Problems with PCI max Card

I have found interference problems with my PCI max card. After bootiing-up my PC, after about 5 minutes it produces spurious signals right over the FM band. These are strong enough to make broadcast stations unlistenable to. This occurs right over the house and garden so is not a proximity effect ...

Back to Sound Solution Plugin

Scary stuff.

Yes I had noticed the pre-emphasis seemed a bit too bright. Of course you need to get the right pre-emph for your region - I can never remember which is which but I think it's 50us in UK and 75us in States - but could be the other way around.

I didn't understand all that stuff about ...

Sound Solution compressor in Winamp

Slightly off-topic I know, but an important subject to get the best from any transmitter.

This plugin looks excellent with an AGC, 5 band and 2 band compressor, stereo expander and pre-emphasis. Looks like it could be the poor man's Optimod.

However it is very complex to set-up and whatever I try ...

Winamp Help etc

The limiter/compressor is ESSENTIAL to sound as loud as the competition. If you try to sound as loud without using one, you will definitely be distorting and driving away any listeners. It works by increasing the average (put not peak) sound level. The actual peak sound level is unchanged, but it ...

re: help please

5w is certainly enough to run a radio station which should easily go a few miles.

Step 1. You need good connections on the co-ax. You must use proper co-ax connections, and use as fat a co-ax as you can find. (lower loss).

Step 2. The range will depend on how high you get your antenna and how ...

PCXI Max Power

Thanks - let me know what you discover. I guess if it's alredy on max 100mW power, then I need an amplifier. I reckon I only need half to 1 watt max, but I haven't seen such an amp at a good price yet on the internet anywhere. Surely it should be pretty cheap as it's still low power (I don't wnt 5 ...

PCI Max Hi/Low Power setting

I've just bought a PCI Max, but the power output seems very feeble. Even a radio just accross the room about 5 metres away has lots of hiss even when using a quarter wave dipole antenna. I guess I could switch to mono and extend the range, but that defeats the reason why I spent so much on a stereo ...
